     Cora was born on 5 January 1866. She married Alexander Wise Pitman on 13 January 1885. Cora died on 15 May 1893 at age 27.

     Alexander was born on 10 February 1855. He married Cora Belle Huyett on 13 January 1885. Alexander died on 8 June 1893 at age 38.

     Frank died. Frank was born on 10 May 1888.

     Sarah was born on 31 January 1836. She married John W. Daily on 6 February 1851. Sarah died on 11 December 1851 at age 15.

     John died. John W. Daily was a deligate to the first convention for the formation of the State of West Virginia, in 1861. At the same time he was elected to a seat in the legislature for the reorganization of Eastern Virginia, but refused it, as that would compromise the right of this county [Berkeley] to go with old Virginia. He was bitterly opposed to secession.

     Mary died. Mary was born on 28 November 1844.

     Jacob died. He married Mary E. (---?---). Jacob was born on 2 December 1846.

     Nancy was born at Berkeley County, Virginia, on 18 December 1813.¹ She married Tolemiah Rhodes Boley at Berkeley County, Virginia, on 2 February 1835. Nancy died on 10 December 1884 at Todd County, Kentucky, at age 70.¹

     Tolemiah died. Tolemiah was born. He married Nancy A. Tabb at Berkeley County, Virginia, on 2 February 1835.

     Mary was born on 7 February 1817. She married John Boley Gorrell on 16 December 1837. Mary died on 20 April 1880 at age 63.

     The Will of John Boley Gorrell

In the name of God, Amen.

I John B. Gorrell of the County of Pettis and State of Missouri being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life do, therefore, make public and disclose this to be my last Will and Testament that is today.

First. It is my desire that all my just debts be paid and after the payment of my debts that the residue of my estate be disposed of as follows:

Second. To my faithful and beloved wife Mary H. I give and bequeath all my property both real and personal to be held and enjoyed by her during her natural life, with the request that all rents and profits received from said property over and above the amount necessary for her maintenance and support shall be used and expended for the maintenance, education and support of my minor children until they become of age.

Third. On the death of my said wife it is my wish that each of my younger children be given an amount that including prior advances will make each of their portions equal to the amount advanced to each of my live oldest children. And to guard against any misunderstanding I here assert that the advances made to my children up to this date are as follows:

To William T. my oldest son money, stock, household furniture and farming implements, valued at fifteen hundred dollars ($1500.00)

To James T. my second son money, stock, household furniture and farming implements valued at fifteen hundred dollars ($1500.00)

To Nancy E. in stock and household furniture valued at three hundred and twenty-five dollars ($325.00)

To John B. in stock and household furniture, three hundred and twenty-five dollars ($325.00)

To Nathan V. one horse bridle and saddle valued at one hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00)

Abraham H., Jacob H., Mary Virginia, Joseph B. and Susan Frances, being minor heirs have received nothing up to this date.

Fourth. After all of my children have been made equal including - allowances it is my desire that the residue of my estate be equally divided between all of my children, share and share alike. Should my executors find it necessary to sell real estate for the payment of debt or for the education and support of my minor children, or consider it advantageous to the estate to tell a part of the real estate for any purpose, they are hereby empowered to sell the north west quarter of the north west quarter of section two (2) in Township Forty Six (46) of Range twenty one (21) and no other, at private sale, on such times as they may deem best.

My said wife or my executor may make allowances to my younger children as they become of age provided they ask and are given therewith. But in no case shall the amount advanced to any child exceed the highest amount allowed to any one of my children named my life time. After the death of my said wife my surviving executor shall sell all of the property both real and personal belonging to my estate in such measures as he may deem most advantageous to the estate and after paying all expenses and a reasonable compensation for his trouble, he shall divide the proceeds of said sale amongst the heirs as herein before denoted.

I hereby make, constitute and appoint my said wife Mary H. Gorrell and my son Nathan V. Gorrell to be executors of this my last will and testament, thereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In Probate Court. Be it remembered that on this, the 24th day of September A.D. 1881 before me John A. Lacy, Judge of the Probate Court held in and for the County and State afor: sic personal appeared William Ricks and B. F. Curnutt who are the subscribing witnesses to the annexed will of John B. Gorrell deceased, and being by me first duly sworn, depose and say that the said John B. Gorrell, the testator subscribed the same in their presence and published and declared said will an instrument of writing to be his last will and testament and that at the time of signing the same he the said testator was of sound and disposing mind and more than twenty-one years of age, and that said deponents attested said will as witnesses thereto, by subscribing their names to the same in the presence of the testator and of each other, and at the request of the said testator.

In the Probate Court I, John A. Lacy, Judge of the Probate Court of Pettis County, State of Missouri, having examined the foregoing instrument purporting to be the last will of John B. Gorrell deceased and signed by John B. Gorrell and having heard the testimonies of William Ricks and B. F. Curnutt, subscribing witnesses in relation to the execution of the same, do declare and adjudge said instrument to be the last will and testament of the same John B. Gorrell deceased, late of Pettis County, Missouri.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said court at office in Sedalia this 24th day of Sept. 1881.

Judge of Probate Court. John was born on 14 February 1815. He married Mary H. Tabb on 16 December 1837. John died on 14 September 1881 at Pettis County, Missouri, at age 66.¹

     Nathan was born at Berkeley County, Virginia, in 1815.¹ Nathan died on 18 August 1836 at Berkeley County, Virginia.¹

     John was born at Virginia on 31 January 1823.^1,2 He married Martha Ellen Shemwell at Todd County, Kentucky, on 8 March 1847.¹ John died on 7 June 1882 at Kentucky at age 59.^1,2

     Martha died. Martha was born. She married Joseph Ke3nner.

     Susan K. Tabb married William G. Shemwell. Susan was born on 14 November 1820. Susan died on 20 May 1869 at age 48. She was buried after 20 May 1869 at Mt. Sharon Cemetery, Todd County, Kentucky.

     William died. William was born. He married (---?---) (---?---).

     She married William Tabb. (---?---) died. (---?---) was born.

     William was born at Todd County, Kentucky, on 14 October 1838. He married Inez Albertine Derostine Glasscock on 10 March 1864. William died on 25 May 1899 at Sedalia, Pettis County, Missouri, at age 60.

     James was born in 1840. James died in 1895.

     B died. B was born in 1842.

     Nancy was born in 1844. Nancy died in 1891.

     John was born in 1846. John died in 1933.

     Nathan was born in 1848. Nathan died in 1918.

     Hickman was born in 1850. Hickman died in 1927.
