     Isaac's occupation: Minister. at Nashville, Davidson County, Tennissee.1 Isaac Jacobus Van Ness was the pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee in 1892, and was one of the Baptist Sunday School Board (BSSB) members. In 1896 he went to work in Atlanta, GA, on the Georgia Baptist Young Persons Union's editorial staff. Around 1900 he moved back to Nashville to become an editor on the BSSB editorial staff. In 1917 he became Corresponding (Executive) Secretary of the BSSB. He retired in 1935 and died in 1948.

Source: History of the Baptist Sunday School Board. Isaac was born at Orange Township, Essex County, New Jersey, on 15 July 1860.2 He married Frances Virginia Tabb at Berkeley County, West Virginia, on 24 June 1891.2 His body was interred in 1948 at Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.3 Isaac died in 1948 at Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.3
